Principle 9: Evaluate Your Results

No one can predict exactly what results you will see from feng shui. The life-shifts you experience may be subtle or dramatic. You may go through a gentle process of empowerment or a real upheaval of the status quo.

Often the effects of feng shui are not exactly what you had in mind. Moving your stuck relationship “forward” may mean breaking up in order that each of you may connect with a more appropriate partner. Improved cash flow may come from an unexpected windfall — or it could result from more clients, a greater workload, and longer hours on the job. Moving ahead in your career might mean not getting that promotion, which in turn could lead to finding your dream job with another company or in another industry.

You can learn a great deal by examining how well you follow through with your feng shui plans, what kinds of results you see, and how you respond to the experience. When feng shui seems to trigger the end of a relationship, job, or situation, it’s often because something even better is on the horizon. Trust that if you have an open heart and a welcoming attitude, the universe will bring you exactly what you need to move you forward on your path.

Feng shui teaches us the importance of living in alignment with universal energy. As you achieve greater serenity and clarity in your home environment by removing the distractions caused by clutter and disorganization, blocked or harmful chi, and all the little things that don’t support or assist you, you will be better able to live in each moment as your authentic self.
