Clutter Clearing Can Do For You (This third installment of our series of clutter articles is now available on the FastFengShui.com articles page:) You can get a pretty good idea of the benefits of clutter clearing simply by imagining your life free of all the negative effects of clutter that we've explored in the past two issues of this newsletter: lack of focus and clarity; feelings of being professionally, creatively, spiritually, and/or romantically stuck; insufficient time and attention for self and family; increased stress, irritability and depression. Wouldn't it be great to be free of all these? No matter what other factors may be dragging you down, I guarantee you that clearing your clutter will dramatically improve your mood and energy. And then any other problems you are confronting won't seem quite so bad. Click here to read the rest of the article
Feng
Shui Q+A (Most questions will have been edited for clarity and length, and any identifying details have been changed. Note: Two similar questions have been combined for this issue's Q+A.) Q. I have been trying to use feng shui for several years. I do it on one room only. I've heard you can Feng Shui your house and an individual room, but how does that work? If you do your house, then do a room, does one overlap the other? Does the relationship corner have to be in the right hand corner of the house from the house doorway or can it be in the right hand corner of the room from the doorway to my room? Let's say for example, I feng shui my prosperity gua for my house (which is my bedroom). Then in the bedroom, I feng shui the relationship gua but not the prosperity gua, I'm confused as to if one overrides the other. A. The only circumstances under which I would recommend feng shui-ing just one room is if you only are using one room in the house. For example, if you are renting a bedroom in someone else's home or share a house or apartment with roommates. If you have an entire house for your use, then you are under the influence of the feng shui of the entire house and are likely missing things by not looking at the whole house. The ba gua can be applied to any space: an entire plot of land, the house as a whole, a specific room within the house, even the surface of your stove or desk! There is a ba gua for the entire house, and also for each room. There is a relationship corner for the house, and a relationship corner in each room. If you wish to enhance prosperity, the thing to do is find ALL the prosperity guas for your space. For example, you say your bedroom is in the prosperity gua for the house. Then find the prosperity gua within your bedroom. This is a key "power spot" because it falls within both the prosperity gua for the house and the prosperity gua for the bedroom. Now, if you have a piece of furniture (a nightstand, dresser, bookcase, etc.) in the prosperity gua within your bedroom, place a wealth symbol or object in the prosperity gua of the top of that piece of furniture (i.e., the rear left corner). By using this layered ba gua approach, your feng shui cures will have a stronger effect. Principle 2 in my book, Fast Feng Shui: 9 Simple Principles for Transforming Your Life by Energizing Your Home, is all about how to locate your personal power spots by combining the ba guas for your home with your priority issues. You may find this helpful in deciding where to place your feng shui "cures."
