FENG SHUI QUICK
TIP 74
What would you rather do with
your partner at the end of the day: watch the idiot box, or snuggle? Of
course, if you really want to avoid your partner, turning on the TV every
night when you get into bed is a great way to accomplish that.*
If you’re single, this
still applies to you. If you’re in the habit of watching TV before bed,
do it in the living room or den. Keep the sleeping room for sleeping,
and leave energetic space there for someone else to come in and keep you
entertained in the evenings.
If you can’t (or won’t)
take the television out of the bedroom, at least cover it up somehow.
Now you have an excuse to get that armoire you’ve been dreaming about.
INTENTION—As
you move the TV out of your bedroom, stay focused on your intention to
create an atmosphere that is more conducive to rest and/or communication.
AFFIRMATION—When
you are done, make a verbal affirmation to support your intention, such
as: “My partner and I are now able to connect without commercial interruptions.”
VISUALIZATION—Take
a moment to relax on your bed and visualize clearer communication and
a better relationship with your partner. Focus on a specific outcome you
would like to achieve, and imagine that it has already happened.
* Soon after I wrote this, I was watching The Tonight
Show (in the living room of course—there’s no TV in my bedroom), and was
pleased to hear Jay Leno and his celebrity guest agree that removing the
TV from the bedroom is one key to a successful marriage. Way to go, Jay!

"Just want to let you know that after
I read your book four days ago, I moved my house around. $100
magically appeared in my bank account from who knows where,
and I can pay my utility bill after all!!! [And then] another
167.00 just appeared. My old job ended, and it was summer
insurance returned to me. I never expected it or knew it was
coming." - Wendy King
