As you know, the main purpose of feng shui as practiced through the years is to establish harmony between you and the environment. While the principles remain the same, the type of environment that we have to deal with changes. Today, for example, we are surrounded by electronic stuff--computers, cell phones, tv and appliances, electric wires, etc.--all the time. They have no doubt improved our lives considerably, but studies show that the EMF (electromagnetic fields) they radiate have also been creating disruptions on our body's natural defenses. That qualifies as 'sha chi' (harmful energy) and must be dealt with appropriately. Fortunately, there are now available countermeasures that effectively neutralize the harmful effects of EMF.
